For many families in Central Illinois, the Christmas Season officially begins with the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s annual An American Family Christmas! The concert will feature contemporary arrangements of traditional classic hymns like Hark the Herald Angels Sing, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Do You Hear What I Hear as well as performances of seasonal classics like It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Up on the Housetop and Jingle Bells. 

We are excited to announce the revival of our Youth Programs this season! The Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s Youth Chorus will perform nightly and each concert will feature a talented Young Artist Competition winner. A Children’s Festival Choir of young singers from area schools will also perform on Friday evening. 

We are also happy to welcome our guest artist Angela Born is a Princeville native and graduate of Dunlap High School. She received her B.M. in Vocal Performance at Illinois Wesleyan University and her M.M. in Vocal Performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is now a successful opera theatre artist based in Chicago whose favorite roles include Patience in Paula Kimper’s Patience and Sarah, Lucinda in Nico Muhly’s Dark Sisters, Beth in Mark Adamo’s Little Women, and Meg Murry in Libby Larsen’s workshopped production of A Wrinkle in Time. Ms. Born will perform solo selections and join the chorale for a performance of O Holy Night.

There will be an opportunity for audience members to meet both Frosty and Santa during intermission at teach performance and a cake reception sponsored by Scherer Lincoln Volvo will be held following Saturday evening’s performance.
