An American Rhapsody: Gershwin and Friends

Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale at the Caterpillar Performing Arts Auditorium of Five Points Washington for an evening of music celebrating the Great American Songbook! Hear favorites from Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, Jerome Kern and, of course, George Gershwin! 

Our special guest artist for the concert is Ms. Morgan Dietkus. Ms. Dietkus graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in acting and is an alumni of the Boston Conservatory Master of Musical Theater Program. She has worked professionally throughout the country and is now based in the Chicago area. A few of her favorite roles include Marian in The Music Man, Jenny in Company, and Rona in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She will perform multiple solos and join the Chorale for George Gershwin’s “Love is Here to Stay.”

The Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus will perform a set of songs nightly and a Children’s Festival Chorus will perform on Friday night. A cake reception sponsored by Scherer Lincoln/Volvo will follow Friday evening’s performance.
