Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale at the Caterpillar Performing Arts Auditorium of Five Points Washington for an evening of music sure to spread smiles, joy, laughter, and happiness. The audience is going to laugh, smile and enjoy beautiful moments of music throughout the entire evening!
Hear MGM musical favorites like “The Trolley Song,” “Singing in the Rain,” and “Make ’em Laugh,” as well as romantic classics like “The Shadow of Your Smile” and “The Way You Look Tonight.” Other selections include Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time,” “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” from Spamalot, and the gospel song “I Sing Because I’m Happy.”
Our guest artists are Chrys Wilson and Jessica Gebbink-Wilson. Chrys and Jessica first met at a Peoria Area Civic Chorale sponsored Summer Choral Camp at Eureka College in 2006 and are are 2006 and 2007 Young Artist Competition winners as well. They both pursued vocal performance degrees at Bradley University and Western Illinois University and now perform together throughout Central Illinois as the band Projekts. Jessica also teaches voice, piano and ukulele at Gebbink Music Studio in Morton. The Wilsons will perform two sets of music, including songs by Adele and John Legend, and will join the chorale for Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for which Jessica will play the ukulele.
There will be a cake reception following Friday night’s performance sponsored by Scherer Lincoln and Volvo.
