Purchase Tickets Online
May 5 & 6, 2017 @ 7:30 p.m.

The Peoria Area Civic Chorale concludes its 35th Anniversary season with a program of music that celebrates several themes including the power of music and singing, humor, perseverance, and the magnificent American landscape. Song selections include contemporary arrangements of classic hymns, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” “The Water is Wide,” “Let the River Run,” “It’s a Grand Night for Singing,” the entertaining “Jabberwocky,” the humorous “Coffee (In a Cardboard Cup),” and more. The audience is invited to join the Chorale during “Let’s Sing the Old Songs”, a sing-along medley of early 1900s popular tunes including “In the Good Old Summertime,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.”

We are very pleased to announce that Thomas Studebaker (see photo at right) will be our guest soloist for this production. Tom, a native of Eureka, IL has established himself as a powerful Heldentenor, having appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the London and New York Philharmonics, and opera companies since 1995. You can read a great article about him in our April e-Newsletter here. Tom will sing selections by Strauss and Copland and join the Chorale for a powerful arrangement of “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The concert will also feature our Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus nightly and a third and fourth grade festival chorus on Friday night. On Saturday there will be a special celebratory post-concert 35th Anniversary cake reception sponsored by Lexus of Peoria.

You won’t want to miss a moment of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s final 2016-2017 production celebrating 35 years of sharing beautiful music with Central Illinois.
